Seven-year prison sentence for drug offences
* Press release shared on behalf of South West Regional Organised Crime Unit *
A Bristol man who played a significant role in the movement of cocaine between suppliers has been jailed following his appearance at Bristol Crown Court on Tuesday 3 November.
Connor Hemborough, 29, from Holdenhurst Road, St George, previously pleaded guilty to being concerned in the making of an offer to supply cocaine, possession of cannabis, and possession of an offensive weapon in a private place following an investigation by the South West Regional Organised Crime Unit (SWROCU).
SWROCU officers arrested Hemborough at his home in August this year where they seized a zombie knife and a small quantity of cannabis (6.79 grams).
Examination of an associate’s phone showed Hemborough organised the sale of cocaine on a commercial scale and has substantial links to others in the criminal chain.
Hemborough was sentenced to seven years and one month.
Detective Chief Inspector Adam Smith of SWROCU said: “Hemborough has a long history of offending, with previous convictions for theft, burglary, robbery, drug supply and possession of offensive weapons.
“The evidence uncovered during our investigation showed he featured in the organisation and sale of cocaine on a commercial scale, offering kilogram quantities to others within his criminal network for significant financial gain.
“His offending continued despite previous opportunities to change his behaviour, including serving a community order shortly before these latest offences were committed.
“This sentence removes a prolific offender from the drugs supply chain and demonstrates our commitment to disrupting organised criminality and protecting communities from the harm caused by illegal drugs.”
