Shoplifting and Retail Crime

We have received reports and concerns from local retailers regarding shoplifting incidents in the area. While these offences have been sporadic, there has been a recent increase in reports.

We are working closely with local businesses to tackle this issue through high-visibility patrols, engagement with retailers, and the gathering of evidence and intelligence to identify those responsible. Where offences are identified and sufficient evidence is available, we will take appropriate action against offenders.

We encourage businesses and members of the public to continue reporting incidents and sharing information with us. By working together, we can help reduce retail crime, deter offenders, and keep our local shopping areas safe.

Our neighbourhood policing team will continue to provide reassurance and support to shop owners, staff, and the wider community while carrying out targeted activity to address this priority.
