Violence against women and girls
VAWG is a strategic priority and we are committing to a local action plan which sets out our activity against national frameworks. Our approach is aligned to the three objectives in the NPCC and College of Policing’s ‘Police action to combat violence against women and girls’:
- improve trust and confidence in policing
- relentlessly pursuing perpetrators
- creating safer spaces
Our approach is available to view in VAWG Delivery Plan 2022-23 (PDF).
Members of your local neighbourhood team have been distributing and promoting the use of tools and apps that are created to keep people safe. This includes:
- the launch of the Safer streets app and patrolling reported areas
- promoting Hollie Guard app
- distributing personal panic alarms
