Possession Of/Supplying Controlled Drugs

Reports are ongoing in relation to the possession / supplying of controlled substances associated with the UWE.

  • 15 January 2024

    The Neighbourhood Policing Team (NPT) at UWE are continuing to target drugs and can confirm since the beginning of the new academic year (Sept 2023) there have been:-

    6 persons dealt with for possession of a controlled substance.

    This is a reduction from the same time last year.

    The NPT also provide education and proactively signpost students towards support around drugs both locally within the university who now have a drug and alcohol worker and that which is more widely available. NPT attend UWE events and offer advice and information around drug use.

    The NPT have provided support and information to the university around the change in legislation surrounding Nitrous Oxide use and possession.

    The Neighbourhood Policing Team (NPT) at UWE are still targeting drugs and can confirm since the beginning of the academic year (Sept 2022) there have been:-

    39 persons dealt with for possession of a controlled substance and

    2 supply investigations.

    The NPT also provide education and proactively signpost students towards support around drugs both locally within the university and that which is more widely available.

     

  • 1 April 2022

    The Neighbourhood Policing Team at the UWE continue to target drugs offending at the University. Since the beginning of the academic year (September 2021) there have been:-

    6 supply investigations and

    The Neighbourhood Policing Team are currently working with the UWE to review current drugs and alcohol policies.
