Reducing Theft at the University

Reducing Theft at the University

Theft impacts students, staff, and the University as a whole. Our aim is to work collaboratively with everyone studying, working, or living within the University community to reduce theft and ensure that personal and institutional property remains safe and secure.

Our approach will focus on evidence‑based crime prevention measures, including enhanced visible policing across campus, regular bike‑security marking events, and proactive engagement sessions with students and staff. These initiatives are designed to raise awareness, promote safer behaviours, and reduce opportunities for theft to occur.

We will continue to investigate all reported thefts thoroughly and take robust, proportionate action against any individuals identified as committing theft-related offences on University premises. Through a combination of preventative activity, community engagement, and effective enforcement, we remain committed to making the University a safer place for all.
