Student-related anti-social behaviour (ASB) continues to be a key priority for the UWE Policing Team. We remain committed to working in close partnership with the UWE Community Liaison Team to address concerns across the communities of Bristol and South Gloucestershire.
Between June and the end of September 2025, we responded to 16 reports of ASB linked to student activity. The UWE Community Team is now taking a more active role in responding to these incidents and will attend reported matters directly where appropriate.
In September 2025, a multi-agency meeting was held at UWE, bringing together representatives from Avon and Somerset Police, UWE, Bristol City Council, South Gloucestershire Council, local councillors, and residents. This collaborative forum aims to strengthen joint working and develop shared solutions to student-related issues within the local community.
We continue to seek the support of statutory and partner agencies, including Licensing, Waste and Noise Enforcement teams from the local council, to ensure a coordinated response to ASB reports.

Since September 2023 they have conducted 85 visits to students to offer advice and guidance around living in harmony with local communities.
We have seen a trend in large organised events in breach of statutory licencing requirements associated with students occurring in the Bristol area. We have worked with partner agencies and other local neighbourhood teams towards disrupting and preventing incidents of this nature.
Other agencies have also been involved, when appropriate, including the local council, waste management, Police ASB teams and police licensing departments.
