🚨 Theft from Motor Vehicles on the Rise in Wells 🚨

We’ve seen an increase in thefts from vehicles in the Wells area recently. Please help us reduce these incidents by taking a few simple precautions:

🔒 Always lock your vehicle, even if you’re only stepping away for a moment.
👀 Don’t leave valuables on display — remove or hide them from view.
🛠️ Consider security marking your belongings to make them less attractive to thieves and easier to recover.
📸 If you have CCTV or dashcam footage that may help, please get in touch.

Let’s work together to keep our community safe. If you see anything suspicious, report it via 101 or online.

Wells Beat Team – Community Patrols
Our Wells Neighbourhood Policing Team is carrying out regular patrols in areas identified as higher risk, including local car parks and surrounding villages. These patrols aim to deter criminal activity and provide reassurance to residents.

As part of this initiative, we are checking vehicles and leaving advisory notes where we identify potential vulnerabilities. This is not a penalty—our goal is to help you keep your property safe.

Top tips to reduce vehicle crime:

    • Always lock your vehicle and check windows are fully closed.
    • Remove valuables or store them out of sight, including bags, tools, and electronics.
    • Park in well-lit areas or secure car parks whenever possible.
    • Consider additional security such as steering wheel locks or alarms.

If you would like more crime prevention advice or have any concerns, please contact us via Avon & Somerset Police website or speak to an officer on patrol.

Together, we can carry on keeping Wells and our villages safe.
