Three in court on drug supply charges – Bristol

Three men appeared in court on Thursday 1 October charged with drug offences after neighbourhood police searched addresses in south Bristol on Wednesday 30 September.

  • Berran Robins, 28, of Loxton Square, Hengrove, appeared at Bristol Magistrates’ Court charged with possessing cocaine and crack cocaine with intent to supply and being concerned in the supply of heroin, crack cocaine and cocaine. He was remanded into custody pending a further appearance at Bristol Crown Court on 29 October.
  • Craig Purnell, 58, of Hayleigh House, Hartcliffe, appeared in the same court charged with possessing with intent to supply heroin and crack cocaine, and a further four counts of possessing an offensive weapon in a private place, namely a machete, two extendable batons and a knuckle duster. He was remanded into custody to appear at Bristol Crown Court on 6 November.
  • Taylor Marley, 21, of Kenneth Road, Brislington, was also remanded into custody by Bristol Magistrates on charges of possession with intent to supply crack cocaine and heroin. He is next due to appear at Bristol Crown Court on 6 November.

Four other men, three in their twenties and one in his forties, were also arrested for drug supply offences the same day and later released under investigation, along with a woman in her thirties.

A second woman, aged her forties, was arrested for drug supply offences released on conditional police bail.

Neighbourhood Sergeant Darrell Boothroyd said: “The community has been telling us about drug crime in the area and we’ve been building up the evidence we need to enable us to make arrests, which can take time.

“We’re very aware that drug supply and the crime and anti-social behaviour which go with it can have a devastating impact on individuals and affects the wider community. We’re grateful for the information the public has shared, which has enabled this positive action.”
