If you have a disability or a neurodiverse condition (as defined by the Equalities Act 2010) we encourage you to tell us on your application, so we can offer you appropriate support. You can find more information about this on our reasonable adjustments page.
We are committed to equity, diversity and inclusion. If you identify as being from an under-represented group and would like recruitment support, read how we can support you.

Step 1 :
To apply for this role, you will need to complete an online application form. Within the application, you will be asked a number of questions that allow you to demonstrate how you meet the essential skills, experience and behaviours required for the position.
Applications will be assessed by the hiring team against the essential criteria. Those who provide the strongest evidence and best meet the requirements of the role will be shortlisted and invited to the next stage of the recruitment process.
-
Step 2 :
Successful candidates will be invited to join an online Familiarisation Event. This informal session is designed to give you a better understanding of the role, the working environment and the expectations of the position. It is also a great opportunity to ask questions and ensure the role is right for you before moving on to the next stage of the recruitment process.
Familiarisation events are designed to help you make an informed decision and feel confident as you progress through the recruitment process.
-
Step 3 :
Candidates who progress to this stage of the recruitment process will be invited to attend a face-to-face interview. Prior to the interview, you will be required to complete a short work-related IT assessment, which will assess your ability to use common computer systems and perform tasks relevant to the role.
The interview panel will then explore your skills, experience and motivation for applying, as well as your understanding of the role and organisation.
-
Step 4 :
Once you have successfully completed the interview and assessment, we will carry out a series of comprehensive pre-employment checks to ensure you are suitable to work within policing. These checks help us maintain the highest standards of integrity, professionalism and public trust. Click here for further information on the vetting process
The vetting process includes:
- Criminal record checks
- Financial history and credit checks
- Employment, education and character reference checks
- A review of social media activity
Please note that all checks must be completed and satisfactorily cleared before a formal offer of employment can be confirmed. The length of time this process takes can vary depending on individual circumstances.
